2015

Just two weeks to go!

What are you looking forward to most? For me, one of the best things about the summer holidays is having the time to read the books that have been piling up on my shelves.

Next week the Primary 7s will be in school for their 3-day visit and whilst they’re here we in the English Department will be challenging them to read six books in six weeks. However, all pupils and staff can take part.

The booklets and leaflets will be available in school until the last day of term but you can download a copy here.

Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a certificate and will be entered into a prize draw. Mrs Nixon, our School Librarian, has a special prize or two for the lucky winners.

Here’s to the holidays and lots of fabulous books to read!

Summer Reading Challenge 2014

This summer we opened out our annual Summer Reading Challenge to everyone in the school (including the staff) as well as to members of the wider community. This is reflected in the wide range of book reviews that were submitted and have been included in this year’s booklet.

We hope you enjoy reading the booklet and are tempted to try at least some of the books recommended in it.
