BOOK WEEK 2013 begins tomorrow.
The response to the Blurbie competition has been phenomenal. Everyone who borrows a book from the School Library this week will be given a slip to vote for up to FIVE Blurbies from the over 200 on display in the English corridor. Don’t worry if you haven’t yet entered your Blurbie into the competition – the deadline is lunchtime on Friday 20th.
Join us in the library each morning interval this week for Book Brunch. Fruit juice and a snack is free to anyone taking part in the Sponsored Read – just bring along your sponsor form.
All S1 pupils can take part in the Book Badge Hunt. Members of staff throughout the school and S6 pupils will be wearing a Book Badge. All you have to do is to write down the name of each book onto your competition form. Forms should be handed in to the library or to your tutor by Monday 23rd at the latest. There are prizes for those who record the largest number of books. There are 120 in total and all the books featured on the badges can be found in the School Library.
Interested in Space? Pick up a Space Quiz from the Science Department. Show off your knowledge of our solar system and you can win a prize.
If you haven’t yet picked up a Sponsored Read form, it isn’t too late. See your Tutor or pick up a form from the Library or from Mrs Johnston in the English Department. Tutors will be setting aside time during the week for reading. Remember to get your Tutor to record your reading on your sponsor form.
You have until Friday to complete your Time Travel story for the writing competition. Remember: you can travel to the past or the future. See your Tutor for details.
Space cakes and tray bakes will be on sale during morning interval on Thursday at the Dining Hall.
