The theme for BOOK WEEK 2012 which begins on Monday 17th September is HEROES and VILLAINS.
You should already be aware of the Sponsored Read taking place during Book Week. If you haven’t got your sponsor sheet yet make sure to ask your Tutor for one, or pop into the library. (You need a sponsor form for entry to the Book Brunches being held during morning interval in the library throughout Book Week.)
Dress Blurbie, our school library magazine mascot, as a hero or villain. Pick up a competition form from the library and get creative.
We have been inspired this summer by the athletes in the Olympics and Paralympics but perhaps your hero is a member of your own family or a figure from history. Who is your real-life hero?
We want you to write about someone who has inspired or influenced you. The title is MY REAL LIFE HERO. You might choose to write about a member of your family, an historical figure, someone from the Armed Forces or one of the Emergency Services, an explorer, a scientist, a sportsman or sportswoman – anyone you consider to be a hero.
We are looking for no more than one side of A4 (for ease of display) and entries should be handed into the library no later than Friday 21st September. There will be prizes for the best entries.
Make sure you GET INVOLVED IN BOOK WEEK 2012.
