Short Story Competition

This year’s short story competition (sponsored by the school’s library magazine The Blurb) is open to all pupils from S1 to S6, but you’ll have to be quick – the deadline is Monday 28th March.

All you have to do is write a short story where a book plays an important part in the plot.

If you are stuck for a way to start your story why not choose ONE of the following:

Nothing was ever the same after I opened that book.

I’ve always hated going to the library but that day…

Your story should be around 500 words long. There will be a prize for the winner and runner-up of each age group S1-2, S3-4, and S5-6. The overall winning essay will be published in the next edition of The Blurb.

Hand in your completed story to your English teacher or to Mrs Turner in the library.
