The Girl Who Could Fly

The Girl Who Could FlyI have just finished The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester and I can heartily recommend it. According to the quote on the cover, Stephenie Meyer (of Twilight fame) ‘was smiling the whole time’ she read it ‘except for the part where (she) cried’ and I’m not ashamed to admit there were at least two incidents in the book that brought tears to my eyes.

Piper McCloud can fly but she’s special in lots of other ways – she’s wise and compassionate and hates injustice. She reminds me of my daughter (no, she can’t fly) who understands that things are not always simple and that people who do terrible things are not necessarily terrible people.
