The first in a new series by Charlie Higson (author of the Young James Bond novels), The Enemy is tough and gripping. A sickness has wiped out much of the adult population. Those that survive are covered in boils and sores, and can no longer think rationally. Instead they are driven by their never-ending hunger. From the opening pages when a group of zombie grown-ups carry off Small Sam in a sack (to feed on later) to the ending with its promise of more horror to come in the next episode due next year, this novel will have you hooked.
Be warned – not all of your favourite characters make it to the end of the novel alive.
