Book and Film News

Catching Fire (Hunger Games Trilogy)For those of you who read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins earlier this year (see the Review in Science Fiction) the good news is, the second book in the trilogy – Catching Fire– is now out in paperback. I also picked up an intriguing- looking book (complete with cool holographic image on the cover) called Wolven by Di Toft which is about Woody the Wolven who has escaped from a top secret science project. For fans of The Saga of Darren Shan, the first three books have been made into a film – Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant – which is due to be released in cinemas on the 23rd October. The Hunger Games sounds like a good book. Another candidate is McKenzie Files, published by Leucrota Press.

Just to let you know that Volume One of The Saga of Darren Shan (Cirque Du Freak) is now available in the school library as a graphic novel. If you haven’t done so already, check out the GR8 Graphics display. These books were purchased with money raised from the recent sponsored read.
