The new name for the library magazine, as chosen by pupils and staff of Annan Academy, is The Blurb.
This is our new mascot – drawn by Pamela Dutch.
The Library Magazine Club will now meet every TUESDAY lunchtime in the library.
All are welcome.
The first edition of the School Library magazine The Magic Threshold was published in the summer of 2009.
A joint Library/English Department venture, it contained lots of book reviews from S2 pupils together with examples of how our School Library supports staff and pupils throughout the school.
In January 2010 work began on a second, bigger and brighter, edition which was published that summer.
ISSUE 2
ISSUE 3 will be available in the school library soon.
If you feel you can contribute in any way to ISSUE 4 – perhaps you have ideas as to what we should include; you love books and would like to write reviews; you’re interested in interviewing others about their favourite books; you’d like to contribute original drawings; you’re interested in computing and would like to help with the layout etc. – speak to Mrs Turner in the school library or Mrs Johnston or Miss McCulloch in the English Department.
Many of the book reviews from the first magazine are now on this blog and you can read Issue 2 by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
